NAMI F/W 2012-2013

Los Angeles, CA. I was invited to the NAMI fashion show that was held at the Ace Gallery. The space was definitely beautiful for art with the white walls. Every artist obviously loves white walls to have his or her art stand out. Anyway, her show focused mostly on lace; pretty much the entire show was lace. She had some beautiful dresses that were definitely wearable and sellable but with a slur of lace dresses that look very similar to one another except different colors and slightly different silhouettes or lengths, the show seemed awfully redundant. It was a fun experience regardless, especially with it being my first fashion show ever attended for any fashion weeks.

Britmania

video

Maybe this is my salute to the Brits, but I thought this was such a cute video for Kate Spade's London pop-up shop a couple of years ago. Also, I used this video for one of my school projects, and I couldn't resist not putting it up here. Fun music, fun vibe, eh?

Gift of Time

I was listening to KIISFM the other day, and even though Ryan Seacrest was saying a line advertising for car insurance, I thought what he said was profound, "You can always make or get more money, but you cannot gain more time." I thought this was a semi-cute video about time. Maybe it isn't exactly talking about what I just said earlier, but oh, well.

Best of London Fall 2012

aquascutum, erdem, temperley london

I know I am behind but bear with me. Flu season, anyone? Here are my three favorite collections from last week's London Fashion Week. I might go cover New York Fashion Week that happened the week before that. You can obviously tell that I am going in no consequential order. Well, we are in the middle of Milan Fashion Week. Go, Milan! Who doesn't love Italian craftsmanship?

Upscale Prairie

elie saab, valentino, christian dior

I know what you are thinking: these dresses from the latest couture collections do not all seem prairie-inspired except the Valentino one, but I think you get my point that these dresses have the empire waist and the full bottom that seem so lovely and modest like a woman going to a ball. Yeah? Something like that? Regardless, these dresses are some of my couture favorites.
